The wines of Chablis can be the truest expression of the chardonnay grape - perhaps more so than many of the great and famous white wines of the neighboring Cotes du Beaune district of Burgundy with which it is often lumped. Chablis is really a viticultural island using a unique combination of soil, climate and traditional wine-making to create chardonnay wines like no others.
