HARRISBURG, Pa., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Pennsylvania (NAMI-PA) will hold its first statewide NAMIWalks event in observance of National Mental Health Awareness Month in Harrisburg at the state Capitol on Saturday, May 22, 2004: 9 A.M. registration and 10 A.M. start of the walk.
Jim Jordan, Executive Director of NAMI-PA, said Pennsylvania is one of 40 states participating in this year's NAMIWalks.
The NAMIWalks walk-a-thon begins at the fountain of the Capitol on Commonwealth Avenue and will proceed twice around the Capitol perimeter. One thousand people are expected to participate.
