Maybe it's because New Jersey banned the use of handheld mobile phones in cars starting in January. Or maybe it's because motorists in the nation's capital won't be able to use phones in their cars starting in July. Or that New York banned phones in cars more than two years ago.
All of these laws have turned up the heat on the use of phones in cars, putting more emphasis on the nascent telematics industry.
