Mar. 22--BOCA RATON, Fla.--Sue Leavesley knows how to mobilize a charity drive.
When she heard from a friend that the Tri County Humane Society -- which covers Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties -- badly needed vaccines to prevent canine parvovirus, she called her husband, Paul Hermecz, the information technology director at ZLB Plasma Services in Boca Raton. Parvo, as it is commonly known, causes intestinal or heart damage and even death in dogs.
