A former janitor who claims his supervisors at the Everett School District dismissed him for his national origin is suing the district in federal court.
Hien Van Che of Laguna Niguel, Calif. filed an employment discrimination suit in United States District Court in Seattle Jan. 23. In the complaint, Che, who is Vietnamese, said his supervisors at the school district questioned him about his national origin "about six times" from 2001 until the time he was fired May 2, 2003. School district officials said Che was actually employed from Oct. 18, 1993 to May 16, 2003.
