Pioneering female conductor Alice (Dolly) Larsen, 74, of Dell Rapids, S.D., died Feb. 2 in Dell Rapids after a series of strokes. She retired in 1989 as professor of music at St. Olaf College, in Northfield, Minn., after a 34-year career teaching vocal music.
