ROCKVILLE, Md., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The behavioral healthcare first responders to the Rhode Island nightclub fire tragedy of February 2003 in West Warwick were recently honored in New Orleans during the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare's annual training conference.
The Rhode Island Council of Community Mental Health Organizations' nine member organizations, and the Rhode Island Department of Mental Health, Retardation and Hospitals (DMHRH), Division of Behavioral Health, were recognized with the National Council's Award of Excellence for Community Crisis Response for their onsite and follow-up counseling efforts after the fire.
