Nymph fishing is not as nuanced or mysterious as many angling gurus lead beginners to believe, a local expert says.

"It's no more difficult than dry fly fishing," said licensed fishing guide Mike Lane of LaFayette. "With both kinds of flies, it's all about getting a good drift. As long as you can keep the fly from dragging, you'll do alright."

And just how does one keep his artificial nymph (or dry fly) from dragging, or skimming through the water in an unnatural way?
