Mar. 26--EASTPORT, Maine -- Greg Rossel doesn't want to see the Boat School sink.
The Waldo County boat builder is a graduate of the program he calls "the anchor" of Washington County Community College in Calais and Eastport.
Boat building is a flagship program at the school, but last week its officials said the program would be suspended for a year after the end of this session.
They blamed declining enrollment and high program costs. Twenty-four students are enrolled this year.
