Article: Paris awards CBTC contracts.(Transit News)

PARIS Transport Authority (RATP) has awarded contracts to Siemens, CSEE, France, and Technicatome, France, for its so-called Project Hurricane. This is a 95 million [euro] scheme to modernise the train control system on metro lines 3, 5, 9, 10, and 12 initially. RATP says fills contract is part of its strategy to standardise its products but diversify its suppliers. Alcatel was awarded a similar contract for metro Line 13 in 2002.
