Algerian National Railways (SNTF) has provisionally awarded a contract worth 88 million [euro] to a consortium led by Alstom to electrify at 25kV ac three suburban lines radiating from Algiers to Thenia, Gue de Constantine, and El Affroun. The work will be completed by 2007. SNTF expects traffic on these lines to treble by 2010.
