2004 MAR 29 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Hong Kong may drop some of its SARS prevention measures because the virus has not reappeared in the territory since last year and the money and manpower could be better used elsewhere, the Health Department said March 9, 2004.
But some medical experts fear the territory could be letting down its guard against infectious diseases.
SARS devastated Hong Kong last year, sickening 1,755 people and killing 299. It hit the territory's economy hard because travelers stayed away and locals stayed home.
