United States quarantine agency Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is seriously considering the entry to Guam and Hawaii of Philippine mangoes from all regions which may lead in a years time to multiple growth in the countrys minimal 400 metric ton (MT) mango export to the US.
David Miller, US Department of Agriculture (USDA) agricultural counselor, said that APHIS is studying the Philippines request for entry of its mangoes from all regions of the country, not only from certified mango seed weevil (MSW)-free Guimaras.
