IF you throw enough mud, will some of it stick? Plenty of people with massive vested interests, most notably the major off-course bookmakers and the BHB, certainly hope so where betting exchanges are concerned.
Recently, the anti-exchange lobbyists were given reason to consider that their efforts are about to bear ample fruit. After a slew of bad publicity for exchanges before Cheltenham, Chancellor Gordon Brown announced in his Budget speech that the Government is to "review the tax treatment of exchanges and their clients".
