There is more green belt land in England than ever before announced Planning Minister Keith Hill.
Since 1997, 25,000 hectares of green belt have been created, with a further 12,000 hectares due to be announced in local authority plans, according to statistics published today. This means more than 35,000 hectares of greenbelt to prevent urban sprawl.
