Mar. 27--LAKELAND, Fla. -- Although winter is nature's time of decay, it's proven a season of job growth for Polk County, particularly this year.
Employment improved in February as local businesses added 4,100 workers to their payrolls from the same year-ago month, according to statistics released Friday by the Agency for Workforce Innovation.
Meanwhile, the jobless rate was 4.9 percent last month, a decline from 5.3 percent the same month last year.
