Kim Sam-hoon, South Korean ambassador to the United Nations, said he is optimistic the disarmament of North Korea will happen, but that it won't happen overnight.
"There is no doubt that it will require a great deal of time," Kim said. "It will require great patience and perseverance. There will be a bumpy road to overcome."
Kim gave the fourth annual Ambassador Pyo Wook Han Lecture on Korean Affairs on Friday at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel. His talk was sponsored by SU's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors in Syracuse.
