Mar. 30--The days of cheap natural gas appear to be over.
That conclusion is unlikely to surprise consumers who have just wrapped up a winter with higher-than-normal heating bills. But in the past, such increases have typically been followed by lower -- sometimes sharply lower -- gas prices. This gave some relief to household budgets.
That cycle, however, is changing. People have had two consecutive winters of relatively high heating bills. And some utilities are already working on plans for telling customers that they should expect high heating bills next ...
