The long-anticipated rehabilitation of the historic Red Cliff Arch Bridge on U.S. 24 south of Minturn is under way.
Lawrence Construction is removing the old deck and replacing it with a wider one, along with other renovations to the picturesque span over the Eagle River. It has a $3.6 million contract for the work. Without it, the Colorado Department of Transportation likely would have slapped a weight restriction on the structure.
