U.S. Representative Michael G. Oxley (R-Findlay, OH) Tuesday pointed to increased transparency, stronger penalties and board independence as major successes of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Oxley, co-author of the Sarbanes-Oxley bill that revolutionized governance practices for public companies, served as the keynote speaker at the Corporate Responsibility Institute's (CRI) first meeting in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday, March 29.
