OSRAM Opto Semiconductors today announced the unveiling of a new generation of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that utilizes the company's proprietary thin-film technology to produce a significantly higher light output with less energy. OSRAM's research labs have developed red, thin-film LED technology that is able to deliver a dazzling, energy-efficient performance of up to 100 lumens/Watt (lm/W) at 20 milliamperes (mA).
