Nissan invests in China r&d
TOKYO - Nissan Motor Co.'s joint venture in China, Dongfeng Motor Co., said last week that it would set up a $40 million car r&d center in Guangzhou, China.
The center will work closely with Nissan's r&d center in Japan, Reuters reported, beginning in 2005.
Under a four-year business plan announced in November, Dongfeng Motor plans to introduce five-passenger models in China. It hopes to sell 300,000 units by 2007, compared with 74,000 last year.
