COLORADO SPRINGS -- Mars has everything humans need to colonize it, and "opening a new world" to humanity should be the defined goal of President Bush's new vision for space exploration, a Red Planet enthusiast said Tuesday.
Speaking as part of a lively panel on the near future of space travel at the 20th National Space Symposium at The Broadmoor, Robert Zubrin, president of the Mars Society, said populating Mars "and the transformation of man into a space-faring species" should be the focus of NASA's new mission.
