THE SPOKANE AREA Economic Development Council holds its 31st annual meeting today on the theme "Creating a Globally Competitive Region."
It's a topic that has done considerable duty at conferences on the wet side of the mountains, where participants have wrangled over the impact on global competitiveness of traffic congestion and land prices and development regulation and health care and pension costs and K-12 and higher education.
