Cancer Research UK is the world's largest volunteer-supported cancer research organisation. Its vision is to conquer cancer through world-class research and it supports the work of over 3,000 scientists in the UK. Its annual budget is around 191m [pounds sterling], almost all of which is raised through donations from the British public. The main UK Web site, CancerHelp, was launched on 4 February 2002--the day that Cancer Research UK was created from the merger of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and The Cancer Research Campaign--and it's becoming increasingly important to the organisation.
