Article: World Traditional Performing Arts Festival.(International Dateline)(Brief Article)

The Agency for Cultural Affairs will hold the World Traditional Performing Arts Festival, February 18-19, at the National Theater in Tokyo. The festival will feature ten traditional performing arts from nine countries, namely Belize, China, Egypt, Georgia, Ireland, Philippines, South Korea, Turkey and Japan.

Since UNESCO first awarded its "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" to cultural spaces or forms of expression all over the world in 2001, the festival has aimed to enhance popular understanding of performing arts worldwide to preserve this intangible heritage.
