Apr. 1--General Electric Co. has steam heat.
That's H-E-A-T, as in high-efficiency advanced technology steam turbine, a newborn technology with a $20 million price tag.
HEAT is a line of more effective electricity-making turbines that are designed, developed and exclusively made at GE Energy in Schenectady.
The company says HEAT can reduce emissions from power plants, save power generators millions of dollars in fuel costs -- and be a big product for the company.
