Apr. 1--While politicians debate about the cause of rapidly rising gasoline prices, two Santa Barbara software developers have created a populist version of fighting back at the pump.
"If you can't beat 'em, then at least avoid 'em," might be the best way to describe the strategy behind the consumer-driven effort to find a way to cut back on gas costs.
Software developers Michael Daoud, owner of a firm called Visus, and Ben Allfree of The Allfree Group have created two different Web sites dedicated to spreading the word on where to find the cheapest gas, ...
