Florida produced more jobs than any other state in 2003--115,000--and the economy is showing plenty of signs of strength in early 2004: In central Florida, for example, high-tech companies are knocking on the door again; tourism in south Florida is at near record levels; and in northwest Florida, increased defense spending is helping to create expansion across the region.
