Apr. 1--COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho -- Empire Airlines built its reputation on tight deadlines and difficult deliveries.
The cargo company always tries to say "yes" to customers, even it means overhauling an engine so a plane can land in Florida within 24 hours.
"We tell the customer, 'We can do that,'" said President Tim Komberec. "Then we hang up the phone, and ask ourselves, 'How the heck are we going to do that?'" Last fall, public officials a dopted the same attitude to keep Empire Airlines in Idaho, Gov. Dirk Kempthorne said Wednesday.
