After a case of chickenpox, a snag in paperwork and a canceled flight, a Somali Bantu family of eight finally arrived in Syracuse on Thursday to begin their new life.
The family was scheduled to arrive a few months ago but had a variety of delays, said Harvey Pinyoun, a caseworker at the Catholic Charities' refugee resettlement program.
"Every time they didn't come, their apartment got nicer and nicer," he said.
