Companies worried about the rezoning of industrial land for housing are finding an ally in San Diego City Councilwoman Donna Frye.
Frye said she never knew she felt so strongly about industrial land until the City Council considered and rejected a policy this year that would require co-location of housing and industrial development.
The council is still considering proposals on a case-by-case basis.
Not known for her support of development, Frye is more often an advocate of clean water and open space.
