Our recent report on professional cleaning of home heating and cooling systems to remove dust mites and other pollutants suggested the installation of a good air filter to top off the job. The medical journal Immunology and Allergy Practice has now reported the results of a survey that measured high-efficiency electronic air cleaner (EAC) use in the home. The survey examined the homes of persons allergic to pollen, mold spores, dust mites, pet dander, and other common indoor air pollutants.
More than 80 percent of the respondents reported either "some" or a "significant" degree of relief after they installed an EAC. They not only felt healthier and more ...
