Apr. 5--CLEANING THE DESK: FARMER VOWS URBAN SPRAWL WON'T CROP ONTO HIS LAND: The telephone caller said he had a tip to share. Actually, he just wanted to set the record straight.
It was in regard to possible land for retail development on the west side of Lima.
The caller, Clair Crider of American Township, explained he and his sister, Carol, are the heirs of about 200 acres of farmland that has been in family hands for more than 170 years.
