Apr. 6--Dewon Wells was helping his niece raise money for her cheerleading squad when the idea came to him.
"They were selling candles, and I took some to sell them for her," he said. "I realized the quality wasn't the best, so out of the blue I decided I could make a better candle."
Wells, a firefighter at the Montgomery County Fire Department for about 13 years, started researching candles, ordered some supplies and went to work making candles by hand in the kitchen of his Mount Sterling home.
