BARCELONA, Spain, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- - The number of British tourists visiting Catalonia in 2003 grew 25.6 per cent.

The number of British tourists visiting Catalonia in the two first months of 2004 grew 50.8%, in comparison with the same period last year. According to figures of the Research Centre of the Catalan Tourist Board and the Catalan Institute of Statistics, 220.000 tourists spent the night in Catalonia during the aforementioned period. As for 2003, 2.15 million British tourists visited Catalonia, a figure providing an increase of the 25.6 % from the previous year (2002)
