Introduction
Students love a mystery, and especially if there is some way they can be involved actively. Here's an engaging learning activity your students will enjoy that takes them into the forensic world of fingerprint patterns.
If you want to use fingerprints to solve a mystery, you must have a way to describe, sort, and find prints that are similar to the one you find at the mystery scene. Fingerprints are a pattern unique to each person. Even if you have a cut or burn on your finger, your original fingerprint pattern will return as the injury heals.
