(Israel Defense Forces- IDF News and Information). Brig. Gen. Elyezer Shkedy was promoted Thursday to the rank of Major General and appointed Commander-in-Chief of the IAF. Attending the ceremony, held at the Office of the Chief of the General Staff, were the Minister of Defense, Mr. Shaul Mofaz, the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen Moshe Ya'alon, members of the General Staff and other distinguished guests. Maj. Gen Shkedy, who last held the position of the IAF Chief of Staff, will be replacing Maj.
