Here are some tips for getting better gas mileage, ranked by significance:
_Replacing a faulty oxygen sensor can improve mileage up to 40 percent.
_Replacing clogged or dirty air filters can improve mileage up to 10 percent.
_Placing items in the trunk rather than on a roof rack can save gas. The wind drag from a loaded roof rack can cut gas mileage by 5 percent.
_A tune-up can improve gas mileage about 4 percent.
