Sound Transit Light Rail Director Ahmad Fazel exhaled and smiled yesterday as the final bid on the 14-mile line came in nearly 10 percent under the engineer's estimate.
"I can tell you we are on a path to build this project on time and on budget," Fazel said after bids from four companies were opened.
PCL of Edmonton, Alberta, which says it is Canada's largest general contracting organization, was the apparent low bidder with a bid of just under $232 million to build the Tukwila segment of the light rail line from the South Boeing Access Road to South 154th Street and International Boulevard, where it will ...
