VIRGINIA BEACH -- On the forehead first, then on each cheek, her chin, her palms and the backs of her hands.
Margaret C. Passaris was still as her priest performed the sacrament of holy unction, daubing the sign of the cross in oil slightly warmed and reverently blessed. "Oh, Christ, our God, visit and heal your servant," the Rev. George I. Paulson prayed.
And when he was done, Passaris stepped aside to let another parishioner receive the ritual anointing that is the central act of Holy Wednesday services at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
