According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper (April 8, 2004), the Chairman of the Board of the Kuwaiti Al-Babtain Group, Mr. Khaled Al-Babtain, announced that the Al-Babtain Companies Group is planning to invest $1.160 billion in establishing real estate and tourism projects in Egypt through the upcoming seven years. The major project is establishing the Royal City at 6th of October City, which consists of 2,200 apartments and a number of villas, schools and markets. The group is also planning another project at the Metropolitan area, which includes a 5-star hotel, residential and office towers.
