Apr. 13--New home sales hit a record in the first quarter as prospective buyers who felt secure in their jobs made purchases and others bought homes because they believe interest rates might rise soon.
New home starts and home closings rose a record 7 percent in Dallas-Fort Worth from the same period a year ago, according to figures released Monday by Metrostudy, a Dallas-based housing analysis firm.
Residential Strategies, another company that analyzes housing figures for Tarrant, Dallas, Collin and Denton counties, said it saw similar growth. The ...
