Canada's Biomira and Germany-headquartered Merck KGaA have released promising preliminary results from a Phase IIb trial of BLP25 liposomal vaccine (L-BLP25) in patients with Stage IIIb and IV non-small cell lung cancer.
The controlled, open-label study involved 171 men and women with NSCLC whose disease was stable or who had responded to treatment following completion of their first-line standard chemotherapy.
Subjects were randomized to receive either L-BLP25 plus best standard of care (including palliative radiotherapy and/or second-line chemotherapy according to current standard clinical practice) or best standard care alone. The aim of the trial was ...
