SAN FRANCISCO _ After Barry Bonds hit his 660th career home run on Monday, the San Francisco Giants slugger was asked at a news conference what's next on his agenda.
"I have no idea right now," Bonds replied. "I just ... "
With that, the other member of the 660 Club, Willie Mays, grabbed the microphone and interjected, "Go after the next one."
Bonds laughed and said: "Go after the next one. Willie wants me to keep going. I'll keep on going."
And with that blessing from his godfather, Bonds set his sights on the next immortal on the all-time home run list. That would be George Herman Ruth, otherwise ...
