Security concerns are driving the patrol boat industry to new heights. Though patrol-boat construction has been steadily accelerating for over five years, it has moved into overdrive since 9/11.

"We do about 120 patrol boats a year," said Ken McFalls, vice president, sales, SeaArk Marine Inc., Monticello, Ark. "The industry looks pretty good for at least the next two years."
