Czech Cabinet approves bills on mandatory alcohol stamps, monitored cash registers

Prague. April 14 INTERFAX EUROPE - The Czech government on Wednesday approved a bill on mandatory alcohol stamps and another on monitored cash registers, two of the three bills intended to fight the country's so-called "gray" economy, announced government spokesperson Jindrich Marek.

The bills will now go to parliament. If passed and approved by the Senate and President Vaclav Klaus, they should take effect as of 1 January 2005.
