DETROIT _ Early in the 1940 NFL championship game, a Washington Redskins receiver dropped a certain touchdown pass from quarterback Sammy Baugh.
The Redskins never did score that day. The visiting Chicago Bears won, 73-0. After the game, Baugh was asked whether things might have turned out different if that dropped pass had been caught for a touchdown.
"Yeah," Baugh said. "I suppose it would have made it 73-7."
