Opening a golf course takes time--and lots of it.
Just ask Jerry Scofield, co-owner of The Golf Course at Bear Mountain Ranch.
After 15 years of turning in paperwork and dealing with red tape from state and county agencies, the permits for the construction of the golf course came through. Now Scofield, his wife, Mary Pat, and his partner in the golf course, Don Berth, are set to open the new course sometime this summer on the outskirts of the city of Chelan.
Scofield, owner of Bear Mountain Ranch, began buying land on the mountain 35 years ago with the long-term goal of establishing a resort in the Chelan Valley.
