THE summer heat is here once again. Illnesses frequently encountered during this season are mostly viral infections like German Measles, Chicken Pox, and Mumps.
The heat does not spare the eyes. Red eyes or sore eyes, which are the more popular terms used by laymen to refer to conjunctivitis, which actually means inflammation of the conjunctiva, are also common during the summer. The conjunctiva is the thin covering over the white of the eye and the inside of the eyelids.
